BethanyRoots and Wings: Rick Polhamus on CoB Peace Witness09/22/2010 - 11:20am Join us for this Wednesday worship service surrounding the past and future of the Church of the Brethren peace witness. Rick Polhamus will bring the message, drawing on his long experience with Christian Peacemaker Teams and On Earth Peace. Graduating student Becky Rhodes will preach a sermon entitled "Afterword," based on John 21:1-19, exploring how our love for God drives our commitment to discipleship. Chris Fretz will lead worship. Voice Recital05/11/2010 - 7:00pm 05/11/2010 - 9:00pm Everyone is invited to a voice recital featuring Holly Hathaway (Bethany alum, 2009), soprano with Bethany Hancock, soprano and Sue Merchanthouse, piano. The program includes French and Italian opera selections, sacred and secular songs, and Broadway hits. The event takes place Tuesday, May 11, at 7 p.m. in Nicarry Chapel at Bethany Theological Seminary. Refreshments will follow.
Bethany Worship: Seeking the Peace of Saginaw03/24/2010 - 11:20am "Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to God for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper." (Jeremiah 29:7 NIV) All are invited to Bethany worship this Wednesday, March 24 in Nicarry Chapel, 11:20am - 12 noon, where we will ask, How do we seek the peace of the city in the most violent city in America? Saginaw was recently named the most violent city, per capita, in the US. Nate Polzin, '06 BTS grad, will preach about "Seeking the Peace of Saginaw" where he lives and pastors in both a church plant and a university-based ministry. Anna Lisa Gross will lead worship, and we'll explore questions such as: What does shalom mean in our lives? What is the will of God for our lives?
